Gramicci was born in California in the 1970s, in the mountains of Yosemite, where a new generation of climbers, known as the Stonemasters, revolutionized outdoor life with a fast, fluid, and free style.
Climber Mike Graham noticed that painter pants and army gear didn’t provide enough freedom of movement. He decided to create the first true climbing pants, introducing a diamond-shaped gusset inspired by kung-fu trousers for full 180-degree flexibility.
He crafted the pieces in durable canvas, capable of withstanding granite walls, and added a nylon webbing belt inspired by backpack straps, adjustable with one hand for a secure fit.
This philosophy became the foundation of Gramicci: technical and versatile clothing designed for movement and outdoor life.
Today, over forty years later, Gramicci continues to offer durable and functional garments, where fabrics and colors evolve, but the idea of freedom and practicality remains unchanged.
From Yosemite to city streets, Gramicci represents Original Freedom: clothing designed to move, live, and face any challenge.
Apparel that combines comfort, style, and performance for those who love to explore without limits.
